We used to go frog-gigging in our parents' pond. Frog legs taste good, like chicken. :D

And they get HUGE! :eek: They always have such an amazing bass chorus at night, with some other specie of frog chiming with a high-pitched wheeeeeeeep!

My boxers were great at catching bullfrogs. They liked to catch them and then play with them - the poor frogs would get coated in slobber. {D I'd try to get them away from the dogs and toss them back in the pond.

A few years ago the pond overflowed after days of pouring rain. The driveway ended up with hundreds and hundreds of bullfrog tadpoles flopping about. Mom and I scooped them up into buckets and returned them to the pond. Man, those things would squirm. Yeep!

I could never eat em. My grandmother would cook what the others had gigged and when I was about 7 yrs old she used to yell " Melissa, come in here and catch these frog legs! They're about to jump out of the pan!" Such a jokester... Kinda scarred me for life, ya know??? They actually DID jump in the frying pan..... ( shivering at the memory) Evil family members KNEW I loved animals... even frogs. :}
