Another molt

I thought "he" was due his ultimate molt, but clearly there are no emboli on the palps. In fact, I took a look at this spider's underside and now "he" looks very much like a "she"! Before this I was certain he was a male. Odd.

Well since "he" gave you an exuvia, check for spermathecae!!!

Too bad "he" lost a leg.

I'm no good at molt sexing. I'll try to get a pic, but the exuvia is pretty messed up. And about his leg - yeah, I seem to have an affinity for spiders with lost legs, lol.

Maybe that leg is the reason it's not mature yet. I don't really know, but it seems mating might be difficult without that particular leg. Or it could be female :p

Yeah, possibly. I'll wait till it hardens up, then I'll get a ventral pic to try and sex it. The exuvium is too messed up to be of any use.
