Here it is. New addition to my collection. I got 2 of this beauty and they are only juveniles. Maybe 1 - 1.5 inches. Hopefully I'll have more in the future.

I'm jealous!!!!

GREAT lookin' scorp! I want one! (or maybe two)...I love this genus, and I currently have A. australis and A. mauritanacus, but can't find crassicauda anywhere....Tough scorp to find....Anyway, good luck with it! :D

Heya Quiz,

Been meaning to answer your email (along with 212 others! LOL) regarding the ID of A. crassicauda. The quickest and easiest way to differentiate A. crassicauda from the other dark-colored Androctonus species is to examine the ventral surface of the telson and the type of granulation pattern and amount of granulation.
In A. crassicauda there will be 3 distinct rows of granules running anteriad/posteriad. In A. bicolor the ventral surface is basically smooth with only minimal, widely scattered granulation. In A. mauritanicus, granulation may be sparse to moderate with the majority of granulation on the direct ventral surface of the telson.

Take care,
Luc
