Howdy all. I haven't posted anything in a while, but I found something I though everyone would be interested in. I am currently deployed to Iraq and during my down time I search a field near where I work for critters. The best find so far has been an Androctonus crassicauda. Here is a picture of the scorpion and the area where I found it (the scorp is in the lower left hand corner of the picture). I've been told be people who have been here longer than me that these scorps are found maybe 2-3 times a month and are more commonly seen in the hotter months. This particular one was on the ground under the plants just above where he is in the picture. In this particular field, I also found 2 centipedes, most likely the same species. One was about 4 inches and the other was maybe an inch. I did get photos of those, but don't have them with me. If your interested in more pics of the scorpion or habitat, let me know.

I wish I could get my friend Kyle to send me some scorps from down there but he's too busy smoking Saddam's cigars and dodging bullets
