Tired of "help, my tarantula will not eat" or " what do I do my tarantula sealed it's burrow and it's been in there for a few weeks"?

Here is Big Momma, (not her name as she doesn't have one it's just for theatrics) she is a hefty female Tliltocatl vagans. She is over 6 inches DLS and heavy bodied.

Out of all my tarantulas that I have or had this is the most high-strung defensive one I ever dealt with.

I'm posting a pic of her preferred resting spot. It is a slightly curved piece of corkbark. It's what you would use for a burrow entrance. I flipped it so the outer part is in the sub and the inner part faces up.

I gave this to her years ago and she immediately started using it. I snapped this tonight after I got home from work. Hard to get a decent photo without light glare.

I've been wanting to take a photo of her for a long time but haven't. I've also been eyeing a Sony A6400 mirrorless camera so I can start taking better photos instead of my bad ones.

I wish I had something for scale. I know it's impossible to gauge her actual size in that pic. She is huge though with huge fangs.

After freshly molting one can actually see the whole fang's size when it's white before they sprawl their legs out like in this pic.

This species is way too underated imo. I’m not a Brachy guy (They were still Brachys at the time) and a friend got me one as a gift. She ended up being one of the nicest looking Ts in the collection for a good period of time. Only vagans I’ve kept.

About taking good pics: a good camera always helps, but without good lighting it won’t matter much.
Try having a light source coming from above, preferably between you and the subject to avoid hard shadows and, when taking pics through glass, always put yourself slightly to the side to avoid reflections. Mess around with the light source, try different angles, and you’ll be amazed with the results 🤘🤘

You better get that camera today before pricing changes due to Felon47, and his unconstitutional power. The companies have already changed their pricing strategies and price increases are coming next

I spent quite some time on ebay last night looking at the a6400 cameras. I found some good deals on used ones. I know the time needs to be now before prices get jacked up even on used ones.

There was a couple that the camera had an issue. One the SD card slot didn't work and the other had some kind of error code. The prices were not low enough in justifying buying either one of those and having a camera store repair it. That could wind up being more expensive which could explain why they are selling instead of repairing.

I was looking at bundle deals on eBay. I also found the macro lens I want on Amazon a Sony SEL30M35 30mm f/3.5 e-mount Macro Fixed Lens.

@OldFlash The room the Tarantula shelving is in has too much overhead light and too much glare off the enclosure when I turn the lights on. I had the phone camera slanted upwards to get rid of the reflection glare.

It's getting close to constant warmer weather where I move them out of the small room. Then I can get non-glare photos. I do have to get that camera and soon.
