Hi,

as said before, personally, i´d not be surprised if one day should show that A. spec. Roura is indeed A. rufus...

Your offsprings might be a good chance if there´s any possibility to get the slings at least close to the size of the wild-caught ancestors....

Greetings,

Stefan

In my opinion this species is in the end not A. rufus... At least, it's not the "rufus" I had with Francesco...
Anyway, I have a key and some binoculars, so when male and female will be dead, I'll try to tell you something more...
Cheers!

I've a really bad news.
This evening I found the female with cocoon dead. I don't know why, she was in good health, even if she was not so "young" as adult.
I'll try to care of the cocoon, but it will be very hard...
The other female is now mated as well (check the picture below) and she's far more "young" than the previous one, so it's possible she'll lay and care for her eggs...
Cheers

Hi Ema,

that news indeed suck! What a pitty.

Given the care this species takes about their sac, i second your opinion about the artifical care of the sac. However, given the rather rare occurence of a sac of this species, i guess every effort should be given to keep it alive.

Good luck on that second female!

Greetings,

Stefan
