I always keep them only for the fist months together, and then separate them, when they reach maturity I put them 1.1 together for 2-3 weeks and separate them again.
However, they will survice together, but it is always of density, space, age,... and luck.
In nature, the inhabit caves in high quantities... so they tolerate each other, however. It is not clear if they may occupy a specific niche/ spot and defend them.
