i picked this guy up at Repticon a few weeks ago. the guy i bought it from new nothing about it, not even where it may have come from. looking at a few pics inline i think it may be a D. variegatus but im not sure. can anyone help me narrow it down to atleast a genus?

I am no expert, but it appears to be Damon.
Here is a link showing the difference in D. diadema, and D. variegatus.

As I posted in another thread, there is a better one, but I cannot find it.
The biggest difference is on the trochanter (sp.). This is the very small segment of the pedipalps closest to the mouthparts. One or two larger spines protruding down. Two is D. diadema, one is D. variegatus I believe.

Awesome animals. Really cool to watch them hunt prey.

I second the genus Damon....

BQC, I think you have seen that on www.amblypgyi.com (website of user Banshee)...but this website is under construction, you can't see those pics at the moment. ;)
