Yesterday, when I checked my adult female Venezuelan Suntiger's tank, I noticed about 100 white eggs, on the floor of the cage, against the glass. The eggs are perfectly round, and about half centimeter in diameter.

I've never seen tarantula eggs in person, but from what I have seen in books, don't all tarantulas make a rather large eggsack?

These eggs where on the floor, and somewhat scattered. The whole thing looked very wet.

I got this T from a small petstore about 3 weeks ago, and I have it setup in an arboreal cage. The tarantula has been eating crickets this whole time. Does anyone have any clue as to what they could be?

<<Sounds like she laid and abandoned them for one reason or another..infertile maybe..stressed/disturbed.Had she decided to care for them, yes they would have ended up in a webbed sack. It's not really uncommon for them to abandon them at that stage. They seem to sense sometimes things just aren't right. They will eat right up until the point of laying and then usually fast while tending to the sack. It's a good thing to have them beefed up prior to laying..one less reason for them to eat the sack... out of hunger.Sometimes a heavy feeding regime will induce laying also if they've been previously bred.

Nope, not mite eggs.

Like I said, these eggs are faily large, about the size of the eggs in a salmon roe sushi. They are round, not oval.

And... I forgot to mention, the tarantula looks skinnier. Could me my imagination, but it really looks like it came out of the tarantula.

thanks Pete,

It does sound like they are abandoned eggs :(

So no sac, no chance of me trying to hatch them?

as said, it could be an unfinnished cocoon. if your T isn't going to finish it, romove it before it starts rotting and atracting all sort of nasties.
