Good luck with that I can care for small slings no prob, but buying up 2" slings will cost me way too much. Weak dying in captivity is way different, than weak dying in wild.... He has no idea what he is talking about.
Catch me a lot & send for free to me...:)

Someone's gotta make an attempt to save the little ones. They basically mean as much as crickets to him, which is sad. I wish I could call Sling Protective Services and have him checked out by the state....sadly, I don't think the state of MO has begun funding for that program yet.:(

Bad dad is putting it nicely:(

You have to love aphonopelma hentzi slings they are realy slow growers. When they molt you can barely tell tell they even grew. These slings you will grow to appreciate more in time. they can become overwhelming at feeding time I find it easiest to break theme down into lots of 50 and feed on different days. I have found meal worms will mold almost over night so I remove remains the next day. I actually traded most of mine. So now I have about 26 left to raise at least till they get to about 3inch mark. Welcome to aphonopelma hentzi slings
Thanks for the info. I have fed the mealworms and experienced the same thing so I prefer fruitflies or pinheads. My hentzi slings I am raising to release in June to help the population as it has drastically dropped in my local area so I'Im not selling or trading them. I do have a G. porteri female on an eggsac that I will sell or trade the slings. I would rather trade but I don't think my chance is very high for anyone being interested in trading something I would like for G. porteri.

I hate to break the bad news Zigana but in the not too distant future your pulchra will hit a brick wall as far as growing is concerned (still beautiful though) my female stands around the 6" mark and asnt moulted for 13 months give or take a few days. Sorry for the bad news
Understand but for now I am very pleased with the amount of growth per molt they are doing. They don't have to get full size real quick just out of the sling stage which they have in a short time thankfully.
