Age of T's

How does people know if a T is a sling, juvenile, sub-adult and adult? Im new to the hobby :rolleyes: And how close to a molt is pre-molt stage :confused:

well it kindof depends on species but in general a sling is less than 2in a juvie is over 2in and an adult is about the full grown size, and I would consider pre-molt to be when the T stops eating and the abdomin turns black. hope this helps

there's no REAL definitions, and this question was posted maybe a month ago -- try using the search option and looking for it. I'll give it a shot too.

the general consensus was that there really aren't any truly defined ages (just like any other animal, each unique T goes through its own stages AROUND the same time, but not really ON the same dot)...

there's still so much we don't know about T's, you know.

I stick to the 2 inch rule, myself too. Although it all depends.

and adult, to me, does mean sexually mature (i'm sure it means the same thing to other people too :) )

some people i know use "sling" up to an 1", and some people i know use sling untill there is a pretty good setae-covering...

so it all depends.

i like the 2" rule (though that changes with some species...)
