I have virtually given up looking for A. gigas, but maybe some other members know a source. I am personally pursuing Thyropygus pachyurus, a species from Southeast Asia. I have the permits to acquire them from breeders or importers within the Continental US, and those permits do not stipulate a containment facility. They can reach over a foot long and seem to be fairly easy to maintain.Where can I get my hands on some ABGs? Do they even sell them anymore? If not ABGs I would love to get my hands on some of the above mentioned species.
They are hard to find I've been searching for a male as well. I got lucky with mine. I got 2 pairs here from the classifieds section after a few months checking everyday. I forgot who sold me the first pair (and an extra adult), but the second pair was from someone getting rid of their millipedes and sold a pair (and a male Dendrostreptus macracanthus) at great prices, one AGB died through shipment though. I'm left with two females atm.Where can I get my hands on some ABGs? Do they even sell them anymore?
Oh dang! They can reach over a foot long and seem to be fairly easy to maintain.
I am not sure I understand the question. I have the permits to acquire, keep, and breed this species. I can also take them on short off-site programs. I can only distribute them to individuals with valid permits for this species as the USDA does not authorize commercial biological supply permits for Thyropygus pachyurus.Oh dang!
Are your permits only for keeping them?
I am assuming this is directed at me, and I cannot sell to people who do not have the USDA permits to own this species of millipede. No one else can legally sell this species to people who do not have their own permits, and I have never seen this species offered illegally. This is a species for which I feel the restrictions should be reduced. If you are able to sell I would be interested. Otherwise you could maybe point me to someone who is selling? I’m just wanting a nice, large species for display.
I also have the permits for the Philippine blue millipede, and I didn’t know you were on Instagram. Was that person breeding them, or was the offer for imported individuals?I feel like restrictions should be lifted for a lot species. I don't see why US native and naturalized species are deregulated but exotics are not, especially considering the fact that some like AGBs and Thai rainbows seem to have been in the hobby much much longer than any narceus or chicobolus. This would also apply for virtually all mantis and certain rhino/flower/stag beetle.
With that said, God DAMN that's a nice millipede! Those things get huge, they almost look like big plastic snakes!! I'd love to get my hands on some if I could! Also, on instagram I found someone selling baby phillipian blue millpedes(Acladocricus sp. I believe) but they ran out.
Breeding them. He also had some rainbow stags as well. I was tempted to buy some but the price for an individual mlipede + regularions threw me off. Also I’m ryanlee_the_fish if that helps.I also have the permits for the Philippine blue millipede, and I didn’t know you were on Instagram. I did notice ryanlee was having some issues with D. tityus that sounded a bit like your situation!Breeding them. He also had some rainbow stags as well. I was tempted to buy some but the price for an individual mlipede + regularions threw me off. Also I’m ryanlee_the_fish if that helps.

I have been meaning to get around to assembling a presentation on this. I have been given permission to use screenshots of the pages from the online permit submission system, but there is a bunch of personal information on these pages that I need to redact before I make any of it public.Oh I see. Didn’t know how it worked. How does one go about obtaining permits? How does it work?
