I have to say Acanthoscurria is by far my favorite tarantula genus. Though I love anything big and from the new world.... c:

Found this lovely beauty off Craigslist for a neighboring city. Not exactly sure of the age but she is a confirmed female, 3.5-4" Acanthoscurria geniculata. One of my favorites, an absolutely stunning creature.

My unidentified Acanthoscurria female. Ordered off an import list by her old owner as T. apophysis but obviously wasn't one when she arrived lol. She's been buried on and off for nearly a year and hasn't moulted. Desperate for her to moult so I can find someone to ID her from it.

heh, I looked into the thread and my little paranoia kicked in again :D
The thought revolves in my head from time to time, is my geniculata really a geniculata? Or is Ozzy a brocklehursti? Can they even be distinguished with a degree of certainty at the sling stage? (now about 5cm DLS)
