Immanis seems to be the cheapest xen. The other ones tend to be 200 -300 bucks minimum

how does it feel knowing you have a T that cost just as much as a used car?

Not trying to be rude, but are they really worth that much? Or it it just price for demand?
All up to the individual I only collect two species Pamphobeteus and Xenesthis as I simply like them( choose the pamphobeteus due to their similarity to Xenesthis).

I think it's worth it. How else would I have a metallic pink pet? It's not like a dog is going to come in the same colors, and if it did I guarantee it would cost at least as much.

Then again, the same can be said of dog breeds. I can find chihuahua puppies and various shepherd breeds for around 100 per pup, but I love my Danes. They tend to run 1,000-2,000 each for purebred pups.

We can talk cars too. I can go out and buy 10-year old Toyota sedan for 500-1,000, but I would never be able to find a Lotus at that price regardless of age or condition.

It depends on the personality of the buyer. Are you more concerned with having any tarantula for cheap, or are you looking for a specific tarantula for the best price available? If you want a cheap pet and don't care too much about the type or color, then it's probably not worth it to you. If you're after crazy colors that aren't available in most other animals, you might think it's worth the cost.

**Edit**
Whoops. Looks like I commented on a very old thread before I realized it. I must be a little slow today

While the thread has been bumped, I'll say my 2-cents.
Tbh, the expensive price isn't that shocking to me because I come from other hobbies (reptiles) where we sometimes have prices higher than all Xenesthis combined (my wallet suffered a lot...)
Another thing to consider is how many Ts do I plan to buy? I'm VERY limited in the number of Ts I can get (really have no more space atm) so I'd rather get ONE (or few) expensive species I really enjoy observing/looking at, than 20 species just because I can get 20 for that price.
I got myself a P. sp solaris and worth every penny so far. I would have probably felt the same if I bought a Xenodermus javanicus instead.

Exactly “enjoy looking at “ I’m the same and I really don’t want species that have swamped the hobby and literally ever one has.

Meh. I don't get why/how people judge how other people spend their money.

Buy what you like. Tell the haters to suck it.
