Can you get a pic? It could be and probably is it's "mirror patch", an area of urticating bristles that reflects light differently than the surrounding area.
Well, if it's near the rear of the abdomen, looks 'shinier' than the surrounding area, and is symmetrical it's the mirror patch. Normal, nothing to worry about. Even if it were stuck molt, (which I'm pretty certain it's not) if it's not covering the book lungs or mouth area, I wouldn't expect it to be a problem.
