I recently loaded some Kodak Ektar 100 film into a 1950s stereo camera. The camera in question is a TDC Colorist with two 35mm f3.5 lenses. I'm planning to take the Colorist to a medieval festival coming up later this month to photograph knights in shining armour. I reckon knights dueling with each other with swords and other weapons could look really cool in 3D.

Late last year, I managed to get a media pass to a concert by The Corrs and took the stereo camera into the media pit (loaded with Ilford HP5 400 - pushed two stops.)

Sounds like it could a real nice set of shots! I look forward to seeing the outcome! You’ve reminded me I need to get some of these rolls backlogged processed !

Unfortunately, it looks like I won't be able to attend the medieval festival. Too expensive (getting accommodation etc.) Maybe next year. Ive never been to a medieval festival before. I reckon it would be a great experience. This one does not have jousting...it would be awesome to watch that.

I am currently using this 35mm stereo camera to photograph the local attractions of Kangaroo Island in South Australia in 3D. Lots of nature etc. I'm probably about a quarter of the way through the film.

I love film, just don't have the budget for it. If I was going to do it, I would get.

It allows you to go digital. Yes, I know people hate digital but it allows you to cheaply work on your skills. After you get the shot down, you can switch directly to film and take the same photo. Cheating yes, but the cost is just a no go for me.

For the moment, I don’t do anything fancy. I work with an old Nikon P900. The video on that camera is amazing. It is a lot of work to actualy get stable shooting. So when I do get something great, I know how hard it was to actualy get.

of course i would love to get a DSLR one day. Maybe a D7200 is i can get a barely used. Or D7500. But for now, the money needed to go there and the kind of wildlife work I do, I would need some 5000$+ lens. For now, my p900 lets me get super close incognito.

for birds, if the timing is right, i can a lucky shot every now and then. For the hundreds of pics i take with it, or video, i come back with less then 15 worthwhile.

i think i like the being in the moment part of it more then anything. Being there crouched in tall glass, watching a hawk hunt, it doesnt get better then that.

what this camera lacks in end quality photos, it makes up in film.

the p900 is just a toy for adults. Its like a spotting scope and camera all at once.
