A nice surprise!

A few days ago, I looked outside and was pleased to see some wasps out and about! I saw a few Polistes perplexus and a P. annularis. It was a great treat to get to see them, I thought it would be a few more months before the weather let up enough.

Yeah it was pretty warm here too! I didn't see any of those interesting species though

We often get "breaks" in the winter, throughout January and February usually, where it warms up and the Polistes come out to sun themselves. It's not real spring though!

Yeah. I feel bad when I see them and know that they're not here to stay. I even saw some on Christmas last year!
