A few days ago I finally got a Giant African Millipede, and I love her!
However, I'm obsessing over how old she might be. Personally, I think about a year old.
How quickly do these millipedes grow?
How long are hatchlings?
How many new segments does a millipede get when it molts?
How often do they molt? I know it takes about 7-10 molts to reach adulthood but is the number different per individual?
AHH so many questions!
I've yet to measure how long she is. I left her to be at peace for now, so I can update her length later, if necessary.
EDIT: I measured her about 20 cm.

So pretty! looks ab the same size as my gigas (around 15cm) and they told me mine was under a year old (most likely 8 months)

If that's the case then that's a really fast growing rate.. Then it could've molted three times since it's hatching... Once a day after it hatched, and then twice more every 3-4 months. I've seen something like, they grow about 5 cm every molt. But how often do they molt..

They probably grow alot within their first year, I'm pretty sure mines molting right now even as its been under the substrate for a long time now

May I ask, how come you're sure yours is about 8 months old?
