Oooh! If you were to sell some of the babies on the boards I would probably consider getting some, lol. Have been trying to find one in my area but can't find them anywhere. Only saw one once when I was little. They're pretty rare around here.

I have another one in my front yard. I will not be saving any babies. The egg sac really grossed me out so I removed it from her cage and it went in the garbage. Sorry.

Don't worry about it, I probably wouldn't be able to purchase one anyway. I'm guessing the delay will just make it all the more exciting when/if I can finally catch one.

Did you do anything to kill the eggs before putting it in your garbage can? Just curious - if not, the sac could theoretically hatch in there and leave you with tons of little spiderlings running around, so you may want to toss it outside to avoid that if you just threw it into a garbage can inside your home.

If it is still intact, maybe you could even attach it to a tree branch or something so the babies could maybe still hatch...all up to you of course. I do realize that may be more contact with the egg sac then you might be looking for...

^I second this suggestion! Prop it up between some tree branches and leave it to hatch on its own. They can take a few months to hatch, so you could easily carry it outside without any worry of even coming into contact with a living spiderling (they won't be even close to hatching yet).

My next door neighbor took from the garbage. He said he wanted the egg sac to put in his yard because he has a large garden and fruit trees.

Once again, she is gravid! I can tell from her large side and also from her scape once again protruding. This will be her 4th egg sac production. And once again, I will remove it and now my neighbor can have some 3000 spiderlings if they hatch in the spring.
