ok guys, i have a question. this year i am growing some pepper plants. and have noticed small holes being eaten in the leaves. im very sceptical about using insecticides to begine with(or any chemicals for that matter) but if i was to sprinkle 7 dust on my pepper plants and wash off really good wash my clothes. do you think i run the risk of wiping my collection out? also if so what are o totally natural insect reppelents to use? i know nicotine will but that couldalso kill my Ts too. any suggestions.

bugs

So here's my suggestion. Look real close at disease or bugs, use a magnifying glass if possible. Write down everything you see. Paterns, size of wholes, how quick they are spreading. Color, color at edge, etc. Take your copious notes to your local head shop/gardening/hydroponics store and look in

I am sure you don't grow dope, and neither do I, but I have seen the book and It has lots of info on pest/bugs/plant diseases, and has solutions ranging from chemicals, natural oils, and predatory insects. The best thing may just be getting some pretty lady bugs and letting them at it. But without being able to see it..... Hope this helps, good luck!

Cant remember the ratio (should be on the web some where) but you can use dish washing liquid and water in a spray bottle and spray the plants to keep bugs off. -edit- found the mix ratio. 1tsp. soap to 4 cups water.
-edit- Found this on asprin water for plants.

-here is another mix.
Blend one clove garlic with 2 cups water. Let sit covered for 24 hrs. dilute with 12 cups water. Spray on leaves.

thyme is a natural repellent you can try, down in California my mom uses it(local pest control company recommended) and it hasn't harmed any of the jumping spiders around her house and i guess has worked repelling other insects.

Dope growers are some of the best horiculturists out there for many many obvious reasons.;) so definatly get a look at that book.

Hmm. Try buying some lady bugs. They take care of a few garden pests. My mom uses 7 dust on her roses. The out door spiders leave for about a day and end up coming right back even with the 7 dust on the plants. I'm sure if you cleaned up really good, even showered. Your Ts would be ok. If you do the whole 'wild caught' prey for your Ts wait until you get a good rain to wash the 7 dust away..Just to be safe.
