1 was my chaco, while I had it's enclosure open taking pictures, it climbed up the side and was walking down the outside and after I poked it to move back up it turned around and as it got to the top of the container to start walking back in, it sprayed a white liquid that was like a JET sprayer from its butt, looks like a freaking squirt gun, it was a solid shot.

My little A. purp did the same thing. I've never seen that before, thought it was pretty interesting.

I've heard of Avicularia species poopin on people, is this what they were referring to?

Oh sure they can! Some of them are quite the marksman! {D
Here is my story-
I was curiously watching my new Avicularia laeta (beautiful colors!) and i kept on pushing on her deli cup to maken her move, then she shot out a white substance. At first i thought it was poison and she was trying to harm me, but then after some time and observing the Avicularia's that i own tending to do this, figured it was a "poop/turd cannon" lol. I also have it on tape somewhere! I think she was just camera shy, lol.

My husband decided he was going to hold our new A. Avic last night. I had told him about the projectile poop, but it still startled him for a minute. He didn't know it was THAT projectile!

Is that really a defense or just how they poop? The reason I'm asking is because he was holding him not too long after he ate a pretty good sized cricket. Also, the T didn't look to be stressed or nervous while walking from one of his hands to the other.

I dont know about if its a defense thing. My avic versicolor did it in the cage all over the place. Spray O Poop Decor.
