2 1/2 gallon?

Is it enough for a full grown A. Seemani? Also, what are the measurements of one? Or is a 5 gallon better?

2 1/2 is 12 x 6 x 8 inches... I would shoot for a minimum 5.5 gal for a matue A seemani.
Keep in mind that enclosure size requirements could be heavily argued among hobbyists.

I'd go with the 5 gal (where I live its actually cheaper than the 2.5 gal). The 5 gal dimensions are 16x8x10. In my experience for most ts the 5 gal. seems to be a good size (exceptions being the larger species get a 10 or 15 gal)

A 2.5 gallon should easily be enough room. If you have the space, go with the 5 gallon but a 2.5 will do just fine. It's not going to be more "happy" in a 5 gallon.

Funny you say that cause I want to know where are you finding them with a sliding screen lid?

All the pet shops in my area come with the a stainless steal top that is held together with two brackets to hold it in place.

You can always by lid clips to keep them locked down.

I don't use or recommend the ones with the sliding lids, too many bad experiences with both ts and herps. I just get a regular 5 gallon (Petco & Petsmart carry them, as well as most aquarium stores.) and I buy a seperate screen top which you can get or make clips to fasten them down or get the fancy lid with a door in the center (still cheaper than buying those with the integrated sliding lid.).

I can get a hold of 5 gallons, but not 5 gallon lids....IU'd prefer the 2 1/2 gallon but I guess I should go with the 5.

You can't find a medium or large kritter keeper? they are about the same price and work great.

I currently use a 2.5 gallon for a nearly full grown B. boehmei and it has worked very well. Our pet stores here have mesh lids for 2.5 gallons. I use a 10 gallon for a T. blondi and a 5.5 gallon on it's end for a P. regalis.

I'd just go with a kritter keeper of some sort or a sterlite or rubbermade container from walmart.

Simply put, you do not need a 5 gallon container for a 5" spider. A container around 2 to 3 gallons will be plenty of space for it.

Ok, I was just worried they wouldnt have enough room to become full grown or whatnot. I dont really like rubbermaid bins or kritter keepers because I prefer a more attractive and decorative enclosure and I will pay more to do so willingly.

at 5" a 2.5 would work ok but u could prob get a little more creative with a 5.5 and also give some more space for her to burrow.id say it all depends on how much space You have to offer the spider on your shelf.also 2.5 and 5 gallon tanks are like the same price anywayz.so whatever floats your boat

I think the 2.5 might be a bit on the tight side just because of the post molt stretching I've seen my ts do.

Kimo there are two different gallon measurements (actually three but the third is not commonly used). They are a US liquid gallon = 3.8 liters and Imperial gallon = 4.5 liters (the third for sake of completeness is US dry gallon = 4.4 liters)
