Very nice! They’re really nice even when they stay hidden a lot :)
Yeah, I read that. They are mostly nocturnal. But that’s ok, I’m excited about the build, it would be my first one ever. I’m planning on having a small waterfall feature, or maybe some kind of river.

Yeah I think this should help us get them figured out! I have the constant water but need to set up a new one with more depth!
And
Oh yeah I do, funny story both my male annd the young female from the original group like 3-4yrs ago are actually still alive in the original tank. and also the G Sp. red ruby just had a massive clutch of crablets like 40+ about 2 weeks ago, and just went through their first molt or two

Here one of the Geosesarma tiomanicum

I raise many of them up, this species is a first for me for captive cukltures so I make sure I have good captive culture set up so they continue.

Agreed there exciting either way, I see my during the days as well, often will come take food from me when I offer up something.
Very nice, I have done waterfall into two small ponds on my latest two viv builds. It is a nice little touch! I actually have to go in and replace the pumps and pump lines for them today!

Awesome Bro.

I’m excited to start my build. Just gotta find the space in my tiny apartment. Idk man I was never into weird things like spiders and crabs, it was always snakes and lizards. Now, I enjoy the creepy things lol

Keep us posted about the Crabs. Especially me lol

I keep batik/marbled crabs and I absolutely love them even though I see them rarely. Very shy little guys but they are coming around, they were a random purchase when I visited Toronto to get some bugs and plants and I have no regrets. Care is rather easy too but I also have hermit crab experience. 1000006756.jpg 1000006754.jpg 1000006753.jpg 1000006752.jpg

Awe such cuties. I’m getting jealous out here, the only bad part for me is that no store carries them here. The two reptiles stores don’t have them, and their suppliers don’t even carry those.

Thank you!! I was surprised to find them, I usually only see either gecarcinus quadratus or geosesarma. They were cheap too so I jumped on the chance! Only regret was not getting more so I only have the 3 in a 20 long. I had plans on trying to breed them but have no experience with it and seems they haven't been reproduced yet in captivity much, if at all.

Definitely check online as well, depending where you are, a lot of places offer express shipping. As long as it's a reputable place, best time is now with the warmer weather!

I've always wanted a Cardisoma sp. myself!!!! Love them!! Kept Patriot crabs for a while, super cool, my neglect on water quality is what I believe took them out!! I had no water filtration and both passed molting in their water area when it definitely needed cleaning! 😕👎

patriot crab is what I originally wanted. Then I saw some guanhumi and decided that was my goal(underestimated the size!). Saw one posted online one day and bought it lol.

I don’t have conventional filtration in my pools, but I do have bubblers. I change the water about twice a month or so. There are snails living in both my freshwater and saltwater (diff species obviously) and some plants and such. Definitely a healthy aerobic bacteria population by now. I’d imagine in the wild the water they hang in gets pretty dirty, but I feel like as long as it’s cycled(not building up with ammonia), they should be fine. Probably a lot of things to factor into it.
