This is one of two golden silk orbweavers I rescued that had nearly frozen to death last night. (I thought this one was dead for sure and had simply collected her from the web, but after 5 minutes of being inside, she revived.)
LOVE these spiders. Aren't they incredibly docile, too?
With the possibility of making myself look like an absolute loser, there was a VERY funny TikTok of a guy who walked into a forest full of these and his recount of the tale nearly made me wet myself laughing.
@RezonantVoid The leg warmers are cute. These are my favorite local spiders to find, but unfortunately the routine mosquito spraying done by the county has nearly wiped them out. (I used to find them everywhere, often several in my yard alone, but now I'm lucky to find a couple in the whole neighborhood.)
