Pamphobeteus nigricolor

P. nigricolor AF a while after destroying some superworms. 1st meal post-molt.
Is it just me or does she have a green sheen to her? Stunning btw much better pic , I am really into pamphobeteus atm can I ask when she was growing did she get eyeshadow? Strange question i know but I have 2 young pampho females and both have eyeshadow my ultramarinus has orange eyeshadow and my machalla has pink, it's one of my favourite things about them and I am curious if other pamphos get it too.

A pic for reference so you know what I am talking about 😆 this is Maleficent my machalla, you can see the pink round her eyes , reminds me of eyeshadow .

i´m sorry, but to me it appears more like the P. sp. NIGRICOLOR from Ecuador.
Especially also on these picture

I see what you mean about the green, maybe just a trick of the light or maybe something I'd not noticed before 🤔 I'll have to get another look whenever I catch her outside again...luckily she's my calmest pampho by far, so she shouldn't scare off easily. I got this girl at 4/5" a couple years ago, she already had her eyeshadow (a more muted colour than that vibrant pink) but the larger she got the less prominent it became, and the vibrant patterning on the carapace has disappeared entirely. Your machala is gorgeous btw 😍

You may well be correct, I'll look into this. Thank you.

They might not be the magnificent males, but pampho females are a sight to behold as adults. Big beastly eating machines that never disappoint, I'm lucky enough to have an old pampho sp. Costa that is over nine inches and she just blows me away every time I see her. For sure best to enjoy the pink while it lasts as IME pamphos grow fairly quick, good news is you've got an ultramarinus which I believe retain some vibrant color as adults. Also yeah, my lips are sealed :zipit: 🤫 😆

My SO has alot of the pamphos, he says they don't bother him then goes round buying up all the pampho females 🤣 I will catch up n get more as I adore them, if I can find them in a shop before him 😆 n yes, my ultramarinus is only little atm but Ursula is very pretty, orange legs with chocolate thighs and a cream carapace with the orange eyeshadow , I have been told eventually she will get some purple on those thighs that she will keep her full life but she's very shy hides alot I only get to see her when I get up before 5:30 am, soon as 5:30 hits she retreats to her burrow, not like Maleficent who is out all the time n tries to eat my fingers through the acrylic of her viv 🤣 my SO has an ultramarinus af n he says they never grow out of that shyness, unfortunately the most colourful t's seem to always be shy .
