What we know as daddy long legs
Oooooh, pretty! I have a P. phalangioides. This could be a Holocnemus pluchei, the marbled daddy long leg.

I thought harvestmen (Opiliones) were daddy longlegs? Now I'm confused!:wideyed:

@Eva yes they are. Here we dont have those, we have these spiders called daddy long legs

Edit: i think we dont have those harvestmen

@Eva - "Daddy Long Legs" refer to both, depending on where you live. Just another reason why common names are so confusing!

I found another one "Daddy Long Legs" in the corner of my T room on the floor. He is perched right next to my dubia colony bins. I think I'll let him stay there and eat any escapees. :)

@Caseyface ow yes they are great at catching escapees. A few hears ago my iguana knocked over some of my slings. I went into my bathroom and found my H gigas sling in one of their webs :(

@Shamrock - oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that!! I get so paranoid with my slings. I luckily have them in the spare room, which I close off from my silly doggos that would surely knock things over.

Some people choose to keep smaller enclosures inside a bin for added security/safety. That may be a good option? :< :<

@Caseyface thanks! I keep my sling for the last few years in a cupboard space with slight heating and a light (for me to use) been working great for me.
