Newbie

Lucille Psalmopoeus ecclesiasticus unsexed sling . Arrived yesterday already made herself (🀞) at home, ate webbed and is out on display bold as brass. The more Psalmopoeus I get the more I love them 🧑 Non of them have disappointed n neither has she!
What a gorgeous baby! P. ecclesiasticus are so underrated imo. My ones have been incredibly voracious with eating and have been quite bold. They still have that stereotypical Psalmopoeus skittishness sometimes, but they're just lovely spiders to work with overall. Congrats on the new addition!

Oh my goodness, yesss! I started with one of my P. irminias--I was worried that I wasn't ready for her, since she was decently sized (and has only grown since then, haha), and since I was pretty new to the hobby. But after watching a few rehousing vids, I decided to let myself get her. I'm so glad I did--my Psalmopoeinae are my pride and joy! <3 I have:

P. irminia (Espresso)
P. pulcher (Coffee)
P. cambridgei (Latte)
P. victori (Macchiato)
P. ecclesiasticus (I actually have 3, since one of mine molted into a MM--his name is Frappe, and the other two are still slings.)
P. irminia (she was at my local reptile store when I got my first irminia, and a month later, this one was still there. Nobody had wanted her, because nobody had really ever been able to see her. So I picked her up and named her Caffeine, haha.)
E murinus (not in the genus, but in the subfamily, as I found out recently! Her name is still TBD)
T. violaceus (same with being just in the subfamily--Earl Grey is her name!)
P. emeraldus (2 slings--still working on their names as they grow up.)
P. reduncus (I had a larger specimen, but he molted into a MM, so I'm raising up two slings now!)
A. burgessei (Oolong)
P. irminia (a sling I got as a freebie--I'm hoping this one will be a male, actually, since my other two irminias are females, haha.)

I'd absolutely love to get the sp. "Panama" and the sp. "Black" that I saw on Spider Shoppe's website someday, though!! I think the sp. "Black" may be similar to the sp. "Alquitran" that was being talked about a couple of years ago? But in any case, this species/subfamily is just amazing--and I hope you can get some more someday too! :D

I hope so 🀞. My little floofers all have names too I started keeping 3 years ago and now am at 80 t's so I would be here a while naming them all but my Psalmopoeus are;
Pulcher x2 , 1 saf called Puddin my first raised from a sling and the start of my love of Psalmopoeus, and a hopeful male sling called Treacle, a freebie a few months ago, and hoping one day he will be Puddin's bf 😊
Victorii juvinile female is Harlequin as her colours remind me of the original Harlequin colours 😊 again raised from sling.
Irminia saf is called Amaterasu and came recently covered in mites with a split in her abdomen, I did think I was going to loose her but she is a strong girl and after some tlc has moulted and repaired her wound and is now mite free and doing all the things Psalmopoeus should. She's rather special to me.
And then 2 new little babes unsexed slings one ecclesiasticus named Lucille after Lucille Ball 😊 and a little cambridgei named Ivy as she likes to stick to the bark πŸ˜„
I look forward to seeing them grow as my others have 😊

I actually only just became aware of the black Psalmopoeus recently but wow they look beautiful 😍 I hope one day to find them here in the uk at 🀞 a much lower price lol πŸ˜†

Awww, all of your Psalmos sound absolutely lovely! ❀ Irminias are really something else--when I got mine, I was so intimidated because I'd read about them being a "good 'training' species before getting into OWs", and as a newbie, that was pretty intimidating to me, haha. But both of my irminias have turned out to be absolute sweethearts (can't speak much on the sling yet, but both of my girls are just amazing.)

Best of luck to you on getting the sp. "Black"! Y'all in the UK seem to get spiders cheaper faster, so I'm rooting for you, haha! The only ones I've seen for sale in the US are by Spider Shoppe at around 150 USD (per sling), which isn't bad at all for a new species! ... But since Psalmopoeus typically breed so well in captivity, I think I'm just going to bide my time until that goes down a bit, haha.
