I’m biased because it was my first tarantula but she’s seriously been so easy/calm/low maintenance and finally has those gorgeous adult colors. She has grown pretty slowly and went for months at a time underground as a sling but now she’s out all the time and 100% worth it in my opinion! They’re my favorite species at this point
Nice pickup! Looks like yours has some hairs already - that's big! Mine still has a little bald, pink booty - looking forward to a molt one of these days...
Ordered this morning Brachypelma baumgarteni sling birthday off my mum after my Pip my queen sadly passed away, its been about 8 months n she thought it was time I got another as I have missed my Pip so much. (It still feels wrong her not being in her spot opposite me.) Nhandu tripepii...

to think, just 8 yrs ago this was a 10 dollar sling and adult females were like 60 bucks.....their prices have gotten outta hand...cool t for sure, but not a 200 dollar cool t...especially considering it will be years and years before you even see adult colors. I wish I would have bought every one I saw back in the day, I could buy a new boat today....lol

I'm tempted, but yeah that's what I'm thinking too. I've heard really positive things about this species but the exorbitant price and years spent as a tiny sling are starting to dissuade me. To each their own, though...I know that for some people this is their dream tarantula.
How cute n tiny I would pay the 200, can't get them over here unfortunately, my SO has one but won't part with her, I went for the peruvianum instead was as close as I am getting to the chilli. But if I found one 200 or not I would pay it how can you not. Price isn't something I care about anyways (not coz I have money coz like everyone else i haven't) but I go on will the t make me happy n if the answer is yes (n it usually is) I get the t regardless of price.
I like the longer lived t's as well, its even more special when they do eventually put on size n colour, anything worth it in life takes time and patience imo n the chilli is definitely worth it
