Not sure if you were looking for an ID, but this looks like a juvenile black widow. If your location of Arizona is accurate, I think that puts us down to Latrodectus hesperus, the western black widow.

The reason for L. hesperus and not L. geometricus (brown widow), is the smaller size of the black lateral markings, but also the connected pale strip around the anterior portion of the abdomen. Not the best angle, but I'd guess black widow over brown from this photo alone.
 
Thanks, I have trouble identifying them when their not fully matured, what makes the male go near the widow? I got them both in a nice size jar . Do Brown widows mate with black just wondering.
