I call this the meh style of hunting.

This is the height of arachnid apathy. Why weave a web when you can just hang from a mesh screen and wait for a cricket to wander along?
Beautiful anax!(?). Looks like mine,so I'm assuming. Mine won't stay on the ground, either,I just don't understand.
I know is old pic,but...June 3 my birthday(ummm...not 2012,obviously...),haha,noticed the pic,just thought I'd comment.

@Rogerpoco I would say she's an A. hentzi. This was a day or two after I got her (WC, literally in my front yard). I think she was still acclimating to her substrate. She was a climber though, for sure. She died of old age last year, no telling how old she was when I got her.

I could not imagine how neat it would be to be able to find T's in my locale-I love hunting Mills,if I could find spiders,I'd never leave the yard!
We have a mygale here,the Spruce-Fir Moss Spider,M. montivaga,kinda a mini-T,but I haven't been lucky yet.

I'm from New Mexico, so tarantulas (and lots of other spiders and insects) are just part of life. I have one tarantula that I rescued from inside my aunt's house - they found him hanging out on their mini blinds! That's about the only thing I miss about living in NM. Western Washington has a lot of insects, but no tarantulas.

My Wife and I are both Nurses,Christians. Our kids are almost grown. Begging Wife to consider Missionary work in South America somewhere, but I don't think she's buying it ;).
