H. maculata abdomen
Bought this H. maculata juvenile a couple weeks ago from a crappy vendor. Noticed a "bald spot" on the abdomen, which I don't know what it is. I'm assuming as an OW species H. macs do not have urticating hairs. Could this be a previous injury that has healed?
That tarantula seems very dark in color for an H. mac. Even as a juvenile. Im not to sure about the bald spot though. Best of luck, and I hope its nothing serious.

@Mike Miller It might just be due to the lighting of when I took the photo. I actually do have a Stromatopelma calceatum juvenile of similar size, so I don't think "Cassidy" is of that species.
I agree that she is in pre-molt, as she is fat and not eating. I'm perplexed as to the "bald spot" as well, but maybe it's nothing?
