Guess the pokie.

I swear if one person says Formosa...
@Nightstalker47 I'm just gonna disagree and leave it at that. They aren't quite that vibrant, often even completely losing the purple hue. They go through variations of colors while maturing, even having stages of deep green.

@Cassiusstein The purple hue is only visible on specimens that are recently molted. So that's not a major factor in determining maturity.

How many females of these have you raised? Mine are mature and look exactly like this, maybe slightly darker.

Besides, coloration is in no way indicative of maturity, you have to check the spermathecae instead.

That's like saying P.mettalica females are only mature once they darken, which is false. They may be mature before they darken, and after. It's no so simple as eyeing it out.

If you have photos of deep green colored P.ornata please post them. Show me the difference your seeing as far as looks go with your MFs.

@Cassiusstein I'm all for spirited discussion, but I haven't misquoted you in the least. I brought up the points you made, and mirrored them with a comparison.

If you can't provide any evidence, be it pictures or explanation how can you expect me not to refute your claim. I remain unconvinced... and quite frankly dissatisfied with your response.

@Nightstalker47 I never did say that their coloration can be used as a means of determining maturity, but rather that they appear to go through cycles of colors. The reasoning behind my empty responses are as follows; I'm not much in the mood for back and forth debate today, I don't think photo comments are the best place to have said discussion, I don't have evidence other than anecdotal at my disposal and I don't really want to dig up or create evidence. So in essence, I'm a lazy shit.
