Grammostola conception???

Ok guys, I just picked up a "conception rose hair". I've never heard of this. He or she is 9 months old and a beautiful blondeish orange color with a fantastic temperament. Is she just a G Rosea rcf? Or is the conception a legitimate thing?
We may not need to be quite THAT anal, but the location of origin for WC individuals or the ancestors of spiderlings resulting from locality line-breeding is both interesting and helpful, especially when puzzling out the taxonomy of unclassified species or varieties.

@Dovey So do some T people though they are often scientists, GPS coordinates are better because roads/mile markers change, unless you are in an area w/out electronic reception.

I am thinking about a doc on tarantulas in Australia I caught once on youtube in which scientists and environmentalists were lamenting the fact that new, unclassified species were being lifted wholesale from the wild for the pet trade with no information on their origins whatever. Makes me shiver just thinking about it. Tarantulas play such a vital role in the habitat where I live, and I'd hate to think of the effect on our environment of entire species being snatched away before we understood their role or even logged their presence. You just don't mess with an environmenrt's predators without extreme caution - they are too important and there are too few of them.

Nice species! But that spider is closer to 9 years old than 9 months old ;) I bred this species several years ago and the sling I still have hasn't got its colours yet.

@Scourge But what are you feeding, how often, and what are the median, or the average night time/day time temps? Those data are important and cast a different light upon your previous post once provided.

@viper69 Mine is kept warm i.e. low 20's, fed well every couple of weeks. I'm sure people could grow them on faster, but I think it's unlikely to get any of the slow growing Grammostola to the stage pictured in 9 months.

Yeah when he said 9 months I'm like eehhh ok. I have a B Emilia sling that's 3 months old and the size of a fingernail lol. I don't mind tho, Shes so sweet and calm I love her

Me too, Carla! And a pinkie fingernail at that! She lives in a tiny 4 oz jelly jar with a mesh lid, and I don't expect her to grow out of it for AGES. I seriously may rig up a little glass Christmas ornament as her terrarium and hang her on the tree this year. :angelic:
