How do MW pupae go as feeders? I imagine Genicula's energy would let him just pounce on anything that lands on his substrate but I figure they don't exactly move around too much for slower T's to react much to them
@RezonantVoid They work well for feeders for slings and as snacks for larger tarantulas that need less motion to trigger a prey response. (Pupae periodically wiggle their tails but they don't run around.)
Often just dropping it on the ground will summon your tarantula to the location. If it doesn't move enough, you can poke it to draw the tarantula to it, though nine times out of ten, that makes Genicula grab my poker instead of the food.
@Ungoliant I have this experience with my S.Kotzman. She will launch off the ground onto the poker if a cricket is not moving and I need it.
Next time I get some mealworms I'll divide them up and let some pupate, these might be good for trips away and whoever is looking after my collection can easily catch them unlike a cricket
