new Cataxia sp. Trapdoor

Here is a sling of an Australian Spiny. Same genus but I don't think both of mine are the same species. New one lacks the striking orange and bristly legs

Such cool little spiders how big are they legspan wise ?
These are like the stealth hunter of the spider world underground!!!
Do they ever leave the burrow?
Stocky too!

@Ultum4Spiderz males will wonder out to mate during summer but females generally die of rapid dehydration in less than 3 days if kept outside the burrow. Legspan-wise, this one is 40mm (1 1/2 inch) DLS and 22mm from fangs to spinnerets, but they can grow to almost 2x this size. Believe it or not this is probably the least stocky trapdoor in Aus, check out Idiommata Silverback for a real beefy looking one (I have one of these too and they almost like like a full blown tarantula)

and as for the stealth part, you have to slow down a video of them capturing food to actually see it, they can catch stuff in less than a second
