Violet the Zebra Knee
Congratulations on your beautiful T! :) If I may make a few suggestions, the log hide is good, but the wood chips on the substrate are probably cedar and not good for a T. I would recommend sticking to peat moss, coconut fiber (cior) or similar for substrate. Speaking of substrate, I would recommend adding more of it. It is nice to give your T the option to burrow or do landscaping (this can be quite entertaining to watch) if they desire, but most importantly, the distance from the top of the enclosure to the substrate should not be more than 1.5 times the T's diagonal legspan lest they suffer mortal injury in a fall. What is the lid of the enclosure? Since my understanding is that you are new to the hobby, I just want to check and help, if I can, you to avoid some of the common pitfalls so that you and your T can have many happy years together. :)

@LaurentheMortician Does she go into her hide if you try to do stuff in her tank or does she dart out? If the former, you could remove wood and add substrate to half the tank and then, while she is outside the hide, move it to the other side, repeat. Other members will probably have better suggestions too! :embarrassed:

Is the lid mesh? The concern is that the tarantula's tarsal claws can get caught in mesh and then if they should fall trying to free themselves, they could rip off a leg. I've been using the Exo Terra breeding boxes for my terrestrial T's since they are relatively inexpensive, not tall, slats for ventilation and hatches for dropping in prey.

She ran in the opposite direction, didn’t seem to be trying to hide. So I think I will need to take her out to get it done :(

Her lid is mesh. It may come as a surprise, but the pet store did not help me in any way. They handed her to me in a box and I was on my own for picking everything out for her. I had some research luckily, but it would have been more helpful if they told me literally anything.
