My B. hamorii has attitude too but I thought it was because he's male (most of which seem to be more defensive/skittish in my limited experience). From what I've read, individual Brachypelma vary greatly in temperament and many are not the "pet rock" advertised!
@Moakmeister back when I had my first few Ts I had a Brachypelma bohmie that would make thumping and scratching noises. I've heard that one or two of the other Brachypelma species might be able to stridulate, but I'm not sure if that's confirmed.
