My newest rescue in my avatar is what the vet thinks English bull mastiff crossbred with lurcher. He is the best of both worlds. Rocket fast and extremely strong.

She was rescued. I got her from a guy in the ghetto who was keeping her in a closet. Surprisingly she came with papers, I think she was part of a drug transaction.
When I got her she was so thin that my vet thought she was going to be huge (she's 55lb as a 4year old, just a little below breed standard). She was only 13 weeks when I saved her, but completely feral. Bit everything and shook like a big dog, her vision was limited to moving things and she had zero idea that humans and dogs communicated.
I could tell you horror stories about her beginnings for a few pages, but that's not important, what is? Well she's a smart, well rounded, well socialized dog that literally gets to go everywhere with me and she's always playing with other dogs and is always happy.
