My favorite species of jumping spider, Phiddipus audax, and I finally found one! Hoping to get a macro lens to get closer shots of those cute little nom wigglers~
I raise a few of these little guys each year and mate them, absolutely hands down my favourite true spider I love seeing pictures like these! Hopefully this year's generation is prevalent I released 200-300 little baby audaxs around my property last year *fingers crossed*. I have yet to see the little baby ones this year as it's still a bit cool in Southern Ontario, but I totally get what you mean it took me 3 weeks of dedicated searching to find my first female a few years ago! glhf with that little one
@Ciri That's awesome! Thinking of hundreds of P. audax babies all out and about just makes me grin like an idiot. Keep fighting the good fight, girl.
Thank you! Hope you see some of your little ones soon
I found what looks like one of these on my kitchen counter just now, found this site and joined.
Should I keep it?
Can I put it outside? Its 95 degrees out today. do they normally live inside or outside?
I'm slightly scared of spiders, but my kids heard one killing a fly once and since then I've been kind of intrigued. I just don't want it to bite me.
I put it in a canning jar, but not sure if that is the best.... he seems kind of shut down now... Just sitting. I put a dead fly in there... not sure how to get a live one in.
