Yesterday I found the largest wolf spider (yes, I checked the eyes ;) ) I have ever seen, measuring over 1.5 inches from mandibles to spinnerets! She was in a shallow burrow and did the classic threat pose as I used a small stick to bring her out. I captured her only temporarily to take some photos.
@Venom1080 It was a very cool spider, that's for sure! It just felt wrong to me somehow to keep it. Maybe that's silly when I do collect other things from the wild, but to me, this was special and felt like it belonged there, this grand spider that must have outlived so many competitors and survived a lot.
