@tisha Ah, thanks I hadn't taken into account the molt in the background before :3! That makes sense as to why her colours are so vivid. Wow nice, I believe mine is right on 5" as of her last molt. Is yours a prolific webber or does she burrow? I've given her 6 inches of substrate and aside from terraforming her enclosure, she really hasn't shown any interest in digging and instead stays out in the open. She's been like that since she was a 2" juvenile a few years ago.
@Ciri no, not much webbing at all.
She's been paired a few times 3 months ago and has been digging a lot lately. Before I paired her, she only dug a couple of inches and webbed lightly.
She did drop a sac around a month from last pairing but all eggs were dry so I'm hoping she would double clutch for me.
@tisha Interesting! Thank you for this information perhaps their behaviour changes upon pairing, good luck on the next attempt ! I've heard that balfouri mothers are amongst the best in the arachnid world :3, that'd be so adorable raising all the little ones with her!
@Ciri Thanks! I've always wanted communal balfs, just sad that the first sac went bad.
I actually have two mated females, the other one hasn't dropped nor molted, though she did the same thing as the one in the pic, only dug a lot a few weeks after pairing.
