Picture is too blurry, dorsally sexing a poecie (especially metallica) can be very unreliable. Post a more focused and clear picture of the furrow. If you still have the exo and it is intact, try sexing it via molt.
The molt is still in the enclosure and it's been 3 days. Is it too late or can I still take it out and try to snap a pic? I'd imagine it's very dry by now.
You can still remove it, but sometimes Ts chew on their old exos after a molt to regain lost fluids, so it will only be possible to sex via molt if the T didn't chew on it and teared it. You can still try though. Submerge the abdominal part of the molt in soapy water or a bit of alcohol (alcohol works great, I use old whiskey ) for a view minutes to soften it again, then unfold the abdominal part of the molt (you can use toothpics to make it easier and be careful not to tear it) and snap a pic of the inside of the abdominal part of the molt, focusing on the area between the anterior booklungs.
That's a shame I'd rather drink the whiskey!
I definitely recall seeing her chew on it but let's give this a try... Will submerge in 99% isopropynol for a few minutes and report back. Thanks!
The picture is in fact too blurry for sexing, but it's still a nice shot to show the ventral colors of the species. I had always assumed they were brown underneath. Good to know they're blue!
