It's funny you say this because all of the sudden my Irminia has been out quite a bit. As soon as she reached I wanna say 5" dls, she became much more confident. To the point she doesn't get spooked when I come up to her enclosure. She still has her hiding bouts but it isn't 24hrs a day like how it use to be.
This girl goes through her hiding periods, to be fair -- you can see the dirt curtain that is the side of her web fortress in what would be the back right corner in the photo. But pretty much from the moment she had a decent hiding spot, she's been very happy to hang out on the walls, on the bark, explore the whole bin etc.
She was in a miserable little pet store enclosure with a pile of moss and nowhere to hide when I got her, at about 4" dls. She was labeled as 3" dls, and I'm pretty sure there was at least one molt crumbled up in with the moss...
Her behavior certainly seems more comfortable and well-adjusted with proper housing. I do love the fact that she goes through these "bold" phases at certain points in her molt cycle it seems.

I knew you had a more visible Irmimia because you have some great shots of her. Now that mine is out, I kind of regret having her in a sterilite but at the same time I'm happy that she's happy. She definitely appreciates the extra space, but not the best for photo ops. And if I even touch the lid she bolts to her hide
I have a 2.5 inch female and she is out all the time unless she has eaten recently. I can bump her cage all day and she doesn't respond. The only time she runs is when I open the enclosure.

That's great! Now you can see the gorgeous T all the time! I love this species. Mine seems to have been born bold, which, with such a defensive species, might be a double-edged sword lol
