I assume the little flap means female but I don't see the spermathecae? it's a relatively large specimen.
That little "flap" is the spermathecae. Spermathecae come in all shapes and sizes, so not all of them look like the little alien antennae that you might expect. Brachypelma specifically have what is called fused spermathecae (the 2 lobes fuse together into a single structure) on a hardened base plate - which is what you've got your pen under. 👍

Why do they all have to go around having unique gentials!

Well that's exciting! I'm hoping it comes out of hiding soon because it was already quite large before molting and I'm excited too see those colors.
