Oops, wrong spood. She's in a Tupperware enclosure right now. It's not as big as it looks in the picture. I promise. I took these pictures during a rehousing from her old sling enclosure. She's pretty happy, hunts her dubias no problem.
Grammostola pulchra, it says, right? Its a terrestrial species. I was only suggesting a smaller enclosure.
Sounds like it was severely dehydrated......or it was suffering DKS symptoms. Generally this is cause by exposure to chemicals of some kind, but its also been observed in some cases of severe dehydration. This is more of a herky jerky, almost drunk looking movements....its quite disconcerting to see.

I was thinking this was on my avic post. That's what was wrong with her. I'm not sure what was wrong with her. She still struggles with the grip thing. She will fall if she hangs too long on smooth things. I even put a layer of super glue over the lid of her TCribs enclosure so it was more gritty for her. It's really odd. She hasn't molted with us yet. I'm trying to see how she does after that.
But this one is in a Tupperware enclosure. Idk why it looks so big here but it's not that big. It's just her in between house until she's bigger. This one is totally healthy tho. I got her as a bday gift for my wife from the Spider Shoppe in WA state. Super healthy little bb spood.
ETA: it wasn't jerky like DKS. Which I was concerned about at first. Definitely dehydrated tho. Had to dropper feed her water in the beginning. She can't grip. In the beginning she barely even moved. She'd just sit in the same place bunched up. Even when bothered she wouldn't move. Now she's like nah gtfo and skirts off if touched with the paint brush. Which is how I haired myself

Tha'ts good. Keep in mind, in a small encllosure the t willl eat better, hide less and grow significantly faster. Oversize enclosures generally get responded to with a lot of burrowwing and hiding, and while not necessarily a prooblem in its self, will significantly hamper growth rates. Its kind of right on the edge of that in terms of size.
Better methods would be to put her in a water dish....just plant its face right in....or if the t isnt moving well at all, flipping it on its back and administering droplets of water directly to the base of the fangs is highly effective.
It will come back after it molts. When I looked at your photos, I can tell she is close...you can see that the femurs have that shiny look to them....with an avic this is one of those obvious giveaways for pre-molt.
