Beautiful high gold! Is this A.Longipes?

Not sure about Longipes but Def A species very fiesty aweosme double entrance species & even uses spagnum moss well 1 ha stp make a trapdoor like top

@BushYeti oh nice! Twin entry Arbanitis aren't common so this is a neat find! Actually in My Tamborine today, hoping to go collecting in a few hours time

Very interesting indeed! Tamborine has the only other lid making Arbanitis I know of, I called them Drawbridge Trapdoors because the lid is hinged at the bottom

@BushYeti I have a single sling but didn't get a chance to do any hunting today. Very strong mottling on the legs and a more silver carapace

Admittedly they are the hardest to catch that I've found because:
A) the burrow is easily the most camoflauged of nearly any mygalomorph species, B) the burrow walls are lined with ultra thin silk, making them impossible to dig up in the loose forest soil they live in and C) they are a strictly nocturnal species that will never, even in captivity, hunt at day.

If you have keen vision, you can spot their strike zone (a ring of silk about 3-5mm from the edge of the lid, covered in debris) around the Curtis Falls track and the retaining walls of the Botanical gardens and surrounding trails
