The spider hood got my back they posted guards under my bed to deal with both monsters and as seen, stray crickets. Jokes aside, any guess on an ID, even down to it's family?
@Ungoliant unfortunately no, but since my hay fever only just left me after chasing the cricket under there, I'll wait until tomorrow to get another photo. There seems to be a single one under every cupboard including my T shelf but I cannot find them at all. The web is definitely cobweb like with lots of trap strands going from the ground to the main messy web
Parasteatoda tepidariorum (common house spider) strongly looks like. Their is one under every bed, all 4 corners of your ceiling, probably under the sink in the cupboard, read about these babies, been living in houses since Egyptian times. They have actually evolved to take in less water and food because they might rarely get it under the sink . I have one in between my couch and wall and she has pile of dead ants under her, I always just leave them be, seem to get rid of all the pests!
@Astroman6400 was gonna say, this girl has a treasure hoard of dead crickets under her web lol! Thx so much, it wouldn't surprise me as is have carpeted floor in my bedroom so there's not much moisture to go around, yet she looks in top shape. I'm assuming they get their hydration almost completely from their prey?
@Astroman6400 I have lots of Parasteatoda tepidariorum around here, and the one in the photo doesn't look like any tepi I've seen. (They normally have a mottled appearance.)
Some photos of mine (one with their diagnostic egg sacs) for comparison:
I do think it's something in the same family, however.
You Know what I am starting to think you are right @Ungoliant the more I look at it, the photo of the original spider is light brown almost like a hue of purple in there?? Yeah It is different I am very curious now to find out what species it is!
