Do you have pictures of the top side of the tarantula? Maybe it's the lighting but it doesn't look like a G pulchra to me. Do you mean pulchripes perhaps?
Also, can you get a clear picture of the furrow. That pink thing especially...it doesn't look like it should be there.

As long as the behavior is normal, all you can do is hope it repairs the next molt. Try to not let it get too fat, and make sure it's got a full water dish at all times. It could be losing fluid if the abdomen starts to shrink.
How far along in the molt cycle is it or has it not molted with you yet?
