Brachypelma sp. boehmei?

Bought as boehmei. About 1.5" DLS
@Theneil

This does appear to be one of the hybrids. Definitely not a pure boehmei, as they're darker in color. You can generally tell by looking at the coloration of the legs. B. boehmei have red all down the legs, while B. baumgarteni have red that appears on the second leg joint and then stops.

This tarantula has characteristics of both species. Let me know what you think. I'm curious as well.

@Androxian IIRC the reddness alone cannot be used because throughout the natural range of the species the coloration pales/intensifies.

i think i heard that on a documentary by Andrew Smith BUT i am not super confident about having the source tight so don’t put too much faith in me. Personally i have basically no experience with B. boehmei or B. baumgarteni so i am reluctant to say anything with much certainty, especially based off pictures alone.

@Theneil Me neither my friend, as I do not own either species. I based that entirely looking at the physical characteristics of both species and looking at this picture. It is possible that it is in fact a pure boehmei or a baumgarteni, but I do not know for sure.
