You do have a haplopema sp, its an cobalt blue a haplopema lividim. Shes either old or is in bad premolt.

She actually molted last month. Only about 12cm now, so sub-adult. The other picture I posted showed her being black under different lighting conditions. http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/gallery/showimage.php?i=30746&c=11

Are there any physiology differences between Minax and Lividum that will assist me?

yeah I think that is a lividum as well the blue is kind of a give away while a minax is suppose to be black. all haplopelma are kept the same. they love to burrow so splenty of substrate and keep it on the humid side, but it doesn't need to be swamp.

Otherwise, I was going to suggest a post-molt H. Longipes, but there'd be no need for that stretch.

My minax are more blue than that for several weeks after a molt. Look at my avatar its one of my H. Minax ladies.

I have had 3 different views on the identity of the spider: Minax, Lividum DCF, Longipes. I am waiting for the next molt to measure legs I and IV to establish the ratio. This should be more reliable than coloration.
